Real Weddings: Visions, Inspirations, Dreams
The story of Ciarra & Michael
The Engagement: Where it all started
In August of 2019, Ciarra and Michael took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to celebrate their Two year Anniversary. The couple was excited to relax by the beach and enjoy some time in the sun. Prior to the trip, Ciarra explained that she had no idea what Micheals’s intentions were and was completely shocked in the moment of their engagement. After getting situated and ready to enjoy everything that vacation had to offer, Michael asked Ciarra to take a walk on the beach. He had arranged a very romantic proposal on the shoreline and made sure to include chilled champaign. The evening became even more special when Michael had included one of Ciarra’s best friends on the vacation. After that night, they knew they couldn’t live without each other.
The Inspiration & Story behind their Wedding
The happy couple recently got married at The Bishop Museum of Science & Nature. Our company loves using this location, they offer a beautiful outdoor space that accommodates any party size and has a touch of history and elegance that made it a perfect place for Ciarra and Michael to say “I do”. Ciarra explains that the inspiration behind their wedding was “family love”, it was so special to emphasize the importance of both Ciarra and Michaels families coming together to unite as one and celebrate on their Beautiful Wedding day.
The Bishop was able to match both Ciarra and Michaels’s “Wedding day look” by setting a very romantic tone through the decorations and theme of the ceremony. They decided on their Wedding colors by incorporating some simplicity and having a “clean look”- grays, silvers, and ivories with a hint of blush. Some factors that made their wedding more special were some big & little touches to make the overall experience more unique. The couple arranged an informal “mix and mingle” at the Hotels rooftop bar for Friday night. On Saturday afternoon They met their guests at the rooftop pool for a few hours and finished the festivities Saturday night by doing a sunset cruise. These events were perfect because everyone all got to interact and get to know each other. In just six months, The couple was able to pull off a stunning wedding after the craziness of Covid-19 and were fortunate to have it be in one of their favorite destinations!
Helpful Tips/Advice for Future Brides & Engaged Couples
Ciarra emphasizes the importance of “Enjoying every minute of the planning process, even the annoying parts!”. The Wedding day itself goes so fast and you should take it all in. “The most important lesson I can give any bride is to give the person you trust most and truly knows you the best, your vision and important details you want for your wedding and let them “take over”. Stay out of as much of the last-minute details as you can so you can truly enjoy every single moment.”
- The whole experience is so special and every detail counts!
- Staying positive and trusting the process is also a great piece of advice for any engaged couple
- Deciding what YOU want.

Dreaming of A Beach Wedding?
At Precious Moments Events LLC, we specialize in giving clients a wedding of their dreams in their very own beachfront venue. Beach weddings are alluring for more reasons than one; The ocean in the background, the sunlight beaming off the waves, and the delightful sea breeze will have you and your partner in a romantic setting while saying “I do”. Before planning, here are a few things to consider before trading in the traditional aisle, for a sandy pathway!

1. Make sure the beach is accessible for everyone involved.
Many people overlook the accessibility factor once they’ve found and fallen in love with a beach wedding location. Don’t forget to think about your guests’ convenience, and how easy or difficult it is to make it to the location, from a main road. This can also affect the process of setting up and transporting chairs, tables, and even food delivery. Make sure your site isn’t too out of the way, and if it is, ensure you make the right preparations.
2. Don’t Let the Sound of the Waves Drown Out Your Wedding Vows!
To work around this, get a professional sound system, and look into ways to get it powered up out on the beach. You can also rent or buy a wireless microphone and speaker for use by the officiant. Another option is to invest in a windscreen for your microphone, which will ensure the wind isn’t louder than what you’re actually trying to say.
3. Select Proper Beach Wedding Attire
- Ditch the Veil, it could be a windy battle!
- Wear Lighter Colors
- Lighter Dress/Fabrics
- No Heels
- Try an Up-do!
- Groom/Bestmen can wear light cotton shirts or Bermuda Shorts!
4. Add in Colors to Contrast the Light Color of the Sand
We recommend adding some color which will contrast with the sand to make the setting more vibrant. Think green, orange, or coral tones. It is also popular to go with a very simplistic theme and use the natural settings to accentuate the theme of your wedding!
5. Prepare for windy conditions.
Prepare for a windy day, even when not expected. Secure everything you can beforehand to avoid this. Use heavier items to weigh things down, or just get heavyweight stands. If you plan on tossing dried flower petals, wait to do this, once guests arrive.
6. Have refreshments on Hand.
Beat the heat with cold drinks. A table set up with lemonade, ice water, or a signature cocktail will go a long way in keeping guests satisfied and refreshed.
7. Always Have A Backup Plan!
Just in case the weather changes, have a backup plan. Always have a canopy or tent at hand to keep everyone cool and dry or ensure your plan B option is somewhere indoors.
8.Prepare A Shoe Station
No one wants to spend the day with sand in their shoes. With a shoe rack, guests can put their fancy shoes in a safe place. Make provisions at the station for guests to be able to wipe or wash the sand off their feet before making the swap. You’ll want to include a seating area, towels, a place to store shoes, and a bucket of water.

They will also help you stay organized by double checking guest counts, and making sure payments are in order. They will not be in charge of your budget, or be involved in early planning phases. They usually start their planning process with you a month before your wedding, and make sure that everything you’ve done up to that point is correct, they’ll make little tweaks for you if need be. On the Wedding day, they stand in as the main planner, and execute the setup and takedown of everything at the proposed venue.

- You’re extremely organized and detail-oriented and have done your own wedding planning research.
- You don’t have the budget for a full-service wedding planner or just don’t want one.
Before Making the Final Decision, We feel it’s important you know
- Always consider the Cost and the Amount of money you have to spend.

- Consider the Pros & Cons of both!
- Call either professional and ask questions to figure out which one you want.
