When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade and Toast to Love!
Our story began during the balmy days leading up to our first year in college. In a twist of fate, we found ourselves enrolled in colleges situated just down the road from each other. The proximity allowed us to bolster each other throughout our undergraduate years. Following those transformative years, our journey took us to Durham, NC, where Parker pursued his doctorate in physical therapy. Fast forward to the present, we now call Charlottesville, VA our home, with nearly eight years of shared history cementing our bond.
My wedding gown has a unique story; it was meticulously crafted by a close family friend. Over the past year, we’ve woven dreams and fabric together, custom designing the dress that I’ll walk down the aisle in. Parker, on the other hand, will be donning a custom-tailored suit, distinctively embroidered with our wedding date—a subtle, yet touching detail.
The ceremony unfolded under the majestic arches of the Powel Crosley Estate, surrounded by the smiling faces of family and friends who had come to share in our joy. We built the vision for our wedding around the vibrant and sunny theme of lemons. This motif, reflected in the fresh color palette of white, yellow, and green, permeated the celebration, infusing it with brightness and cheer. Each centerpiece, graced with lively lemons, served as a tangible symbol of our love – vibrant, refreshing, and filled with zest.
Blessed with stunning weather, we continued the celebration on the estate’s expansive lawn, which was transformed into a magical setting under the glow of soft lights, making our joyous day a picture-perfect celebration of love.
